Quality Without Question

Customer Process & Timeline Guide

Welcome to DeSanctis Marble & Granite! Whether you’re updating a kitchen, transforming a bathroom, or planning a commercial project, our team will guide you from your first measurements to your finished installation.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Measurements & Project Consultation

Tell us about your project, your vision, and the space you’d like to transform. We can prepare your estimate using:

  • Measurements and a drawing you provide.

  • Measurements taken during a scheduled visit to your property.

  • Blueprints supplied by you or your contractor.

Initial measurements help us determine the scope of your project. Final fabrication measurements are established during templating.

2. Proposal Review & Approval

We’ll prepare a proposal based on your project requirements. Review the materials, scope of work, and included services with our team before approving your proposal.

3. Personal Stone Selection

This is where your vision begins to take shape! Visit our showroom to explore premium samples and available slabs.

Choose from classic granites and marbles to rare and exotic natural stones sourced from quarries around the world. Our team can help you consider color, movement, finish, and maintenance needs.

4. Finalize Your Details

Before templating and fabrication, we’ll review the details that make your project yours, including:

  • Edge profile.

  • Sink selection and mounting style.

  • Faucet and accessory holes.

  • Cooktop or appliance openings.

  • Backsplash preferences.

  • Overhangs and any required support.

5. Deposit & Material Scheduling

Once your selections are finalized and your deposit is received, we’ll coordinate your slab’s availability and schedule your template appointment.

Your proposal will outline the required deposit and payment schedule.

6. Professional Templating

Our team visits your home or business to create a precise template of your countertop or vanity. This captures the dimensions and fit needed for fabrication.

Cabinetry and other supporting surfaces must be ready before this appointment. We’ll review your project’s preparation requirements when scheduling.

7. Fabrication & Finishing

Our craftsmen cut, shape, and finish your selected stone to suit your project. Fabrication typically takes approximately 1–2 days, depending on the size and complexity of the work; this is separate from scheduling and material lead times.

Sealing is completed before installation where appropriate for the selected material.

8. Delivery & Installation

We’ll schedule your installation and professionally fit your finished stone. Our team will review care instructions and any remaining steps before you begin using your new surfaces.

Estimated Project Timeline

Our typical process takes approximately 2–2½ weeks from proposal acceptance to completed installation, provided selections are complete, materials are available, the deposit is received, and the site is ready. Your project schedule will be confirmed individually.

Preparing for a Smooth Project

Cabinetry & Support

Cabinets must be securely installed, level, and in their final positions before templating. Let us know about any planned cabinet changes, islands, or extended overhangs so support requirements can be reviewed.

For custom cabinetry, we recommend coordinating with our partner, Inspired Custom Cabinets, to align cabinet installation with countertop templating.

Sinks, Faucets & Appliances

Finalize these selections early. Provide model numbers and specifications for sinks, faucets, cooktops, and accessories so we can plan the correct openings. We’ll confirm which items must be on-site for templating or fabrication.

Existing Countertop Removal

Replacing existing countertops or vanities? We can remove and dispose of the old surfaces when this service is included in your proposal. Confirm the removal scope and preparation requirements with our team.

Plumbing & Electrical Coordination

DeSanctis does not connect plumbing. Arrange for any necessary disconnection and reconnection with your plumber. We can recommend a plumber if needed.

Coordinate electrical or gas work with the appropriate qualified professional.

Natural Stone Characteristics

Each natural stone slab has its own color, pattern, and movement. Samples offer a general reference; selecting your actual slab helps you understand the character of the material that will be installed.

Seams & Layout

Some projects require seams. Ask our team about anticipated seam locations, pattern direction, and layout considerations before fabrication.

During Templating

Our team will confirm dimensions, review relevant project details, and create your fabrication template.

Please clear the work area and have an authorized decision-maker available to answer questions. Changes after templating may require additional measurements, revised pricing, or scheduling adjustments.

During Installation

The typical sequence includes:

  1. Preparing the work area and removing existing surfaces, if included.

  2. Positioning and fitting your fabricated stone.

  3. Completing seams and securing the surfaces as required.

  4. Installing undermount sinks, if included.

  5. Reviewing the completed installation and care instructions.

Please provide a clear path to the work area and keep children and pets safely away during installation.

After Installation

Plumbing reconnection is completed separately by your plumber. Before using the countertops or sinks, follow our team’s instructions regarding any required curing or waiting periods.

Your project may also require separately coordinated backsplash, painting, or wall touch-up work. Review those responsibilities before installation.

Our Commitment to Quality Installation

At DeSanctis Marble & Granite, we take pride in our installation workmanship. Our one-year limited labor warranty provides coverage for installation-related defects as outlined below.

Warranty Coverage

DeSanctis Marble & Granite warrants that all labor performed for countertop installation will be free from defects in workmanship for one (1) year from the date of installation.

This warranty applies solely to countertop installation labor and covers issues arising directly from installation workmanship. It does not provide coverage for the countertop material itself.

What Is Covered

During the one-year warranty period, DeSanctis Marble & Granite will:

  • Repair or correct defects in installation workmanship at no additional labor cost.

  • Address improper fitting, leveling, or securing of countertops caused by installation error.

Our team will inspect the reported concern to determine whether it falls within the scope of this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or improper care.

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Damage resulting from structural movement, settling, or environmental conditions.

  • Chips, cracks, or stains caused after installation.

  • Issues related to materials, including manufacturer defects.

  • Modifications or repairs performed by third parties.

Material & Manufacturer Warranties

Any applicable material manufacturer’s warranty is separate from this installation labor warranty and is subject to that manufacturer’s terms, exclusions, and claim requirements. Please ask our team about available warranty information for your selected material.

Warranty Claim Process

To submit a warranty claim, please:

  1. Notify DeSanctis Marble & Granite in writing within the one-year warranty period.

  2. Provide proof of the installation date, such as your invoice or receipt.

  3. Include your name, installation address, contact information, and a detailed description of the concern. Clear photographs will help our team review the issue.

  4. Allow reasonable access to the property for inspection and any covered repair.

After reviewing your claim, our team will explain the next steps and coordinate an inspection or covered repair as appropriate.

Limitations of Liability

DeSanctis Marble & Granite’s liability under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or correction of installation workmanship defects. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the company is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer listed on the invoice.

Protecting Your Stone Surfaces

Proper care helps preserve the appearance of your countertops. Follow the care instructions provided for your specific material, including guidance on cleaning products, spill cleanup, heat protection, and sealing where applicable.

If you have questions about maintenance or notice a potential installation issue, please contact our team.

Can I bring my own measurements?

Yes! Bring a drawing with measurements, or provide blueprints from your contractor. We can also schedule a visit to measure your space. Professional templating establishes the final dimensions for fabrication.

Can I choose my actual slab?

Yes. Personal stone selection is an important part of the process. Visit our showroom to explore samples and available slab inventory.

How long does the process take?

Typically, approximately 2–2½ weeks from proposal acceptance to installation, subject to material availability, completed selections, deposit receipt, and site readiness. We’ll confirm the expected schedule for your project.

Do my cabinets need to be installed first?

Yes. Cabinets and supporting surfaces need to be secured, level, and in their final positions before templating.

Will you remove my old countertops?

Yes, removal and disposal are available. Confirm that these services are included in your proposal.

Do you install undermount sinks?

Yes. Undermount sinks can be installed during countertop installation when included in your project. Plumbing connections are handled separately.

Do you reconnect plumbing?

No. A plumber will need to connect the pipes and faucets. We can recommend one if needed.

Will my countertops have seams?

That depends on the dimensions, layout, slab size, and installation requirements. Our team can discuss anticipated seams before fabrication.

Can I change my selections after templating?

Contact us as soon as possible. Changes may affect pricing and scheduling, and some changes may no longer be possible once fabrication begins.

How should I care for my stone?

Follow the care guidance for your selected material. Our team will explain cleaning recommendations and whether periodic sealing is needed.
